Flax Chart of the Week
The StatsCan farmer survey revealed flax planting intentions at 1.63 million acres, a 5% increase from the previous year. This compares to traders’ estimates of 1.5-1.8 million acres. Anecdotal reports had pointed to a larger increase for 2015 acres. The StatsCan number shows seeded area is now back to levels seen prior to the Triffid issue, indicating a solid recovery for the industry.
