Chart of the Week
Last week, StatsCan’s seeded area report pegged 2015 flax at 1.69 million acres, 9% more than the previous year. Acreage in Alberta was unchanged while Saskatchewan added 85,000 acres and Manitoba was up 50,000 acres from last year. Seeded area is now stabilizing at levels seen prior to the Triffid issue. Attention now shifts to 2015 yields.
