Chart of the Week
May was a big month for flax exports with 115,000 tonnes moving to two major destinations. The largest volume was 62,000 tonnes going to western Europe, fairly typical for the spring season and another 41,000 tonnes went to China. Exports for Aug-May were 646,000 tonnes, far ahead of last year and the 10-year average. Volumes for June and July will likely be quieter again.
