Last week, StatsCan released its latest estimate of the 2015 flax crop at 889,000 tonnes, nearly unchanged from its August estimate and the largest crop since 2009. This compares to the 2014 at 873,000 tonnes. The 2015 yield was set at 21.1 bu/acre, which is 5% below the 5-year average. This decent yield indicates the July rains in Saskatchewan helped revive the crop.
