StatsCan will be releasing its first survey-based estimate of 2016 seeded areaon April 21. Ideas about direction are varied, with Ag Canada projecting a 5% increase from last year while our own estimate is a 10% reduction in acreage. If seeded area is at the high end, supplies could be very heavy in 2016/17 but would be more moderate at the lower end.
