Last week, the StatsCan survey reported even lower 2016 seeded area for flax at 925,000 acres. That’s 44% fewer acres than in 2015 and 190,000 acres less than reported in the April planting intentions. This number was a surprise to the trade which expected little change or even a small increase from the earlier intentions report.
