April 12, 2017 Flax Chart, Flax News 0 Comments Based on a farmer survey in March, the USDA estimated 2017 flax seeded area at 313,000 acres. That’s 16% fewer acres than last year and the second straight year of declines but is still close to the 10-year average. If the 2017 yield drops back to the 5-year average, 2017/18 production would be approximately 60,000 tonnes less than last year.
