September 8, 2017 Flax Chart, Flax News 0 Comments StatsCan’s first estimate of the 2017 flax crop came in at 507,000 tonnes, 80,000 tonnes (14%) less than last year. This was below the average trade estimate of 560,000 tonnes. The estimated yield of 19.6 bu/acre was 29% below last year’s record high and 19% lower than the 5-year average. It is possible actual yields will be higher than this estimate.
