NEWS RELEASE – Flax Council of Canada President Announces Resignation 06.27.14

Winnipeg, Manitoba (June 27, 2014) – Brian Johnson, Chair of the Flax Council of Canada, announced today the resignation of Mr. William Hill as President of the Flax Council. Mr Hill will be leaving the Flax Council on August 31, 2014 to pursue an opportunity with a private sector company in the in the agribusiness industry. He will be working with the Board of Directors to facilitate a smooth transition to new leadership.
“The flax industry has gone through an extremely challenging period in its history, but the future looks bright as Canada’s seeded acreage and exports have rebounded. Canadian flax has returned to its leading position in global markets and is a healthy, environmentally friendly and sustainable crop for the world’s food, feed and industrial markets. The Board of Directors would like to thank Will for his leadership during these challenging times and wish him well in his new endeavour”, said Brian Johnson.
The Flax Council is a national trade association that promotes flax for food, feed and industrial uses in domestic and international markets from its office in Winnipeg. The Council represents the entire flax industry, including flax producers, manufacturers, shippers and exporters.
