Flax exports normally start the year slowly, but the first two months reported by StatsCan show the slowest start since 2005/06. The US has been the largest buyer and the EU took a shipment in August but China has largely been absent so far. Exports typically pick up sharply in Nov/Dec and there are signs of more movement through the handling system.
