Some beneficial rains have been moving across the prairies but the flax yield situation is still precarious, mostly because many flax acres are located in the driest areas. Despite a 9% increase in acres, 2015 production could drop as low as 750-775,000 tonnes on an 18.5 bu/acre yield. AAFC is still projecting an above-average 22.5 bu/acre yield and a 950,000 tonne crop.
