Commercial inventories of flax started off 2016/17 far above normal levels but have since dropped off as farmer deliveries have been quieter than usual. Typically, buyers are building terminal inventories of flax for exports through Thunder Bay before the Seaway freezes but those haven’t developed yet. This may be a signal of a slower fall export program.
