StatsCan’s final estimate of the 2016 flax crop at 579,000 tonnes was very close to its initial estimate in August. The yield was 27.3 bu/acre, just slightly below the record 2013 yield. In this report, StatsCan showed 10% of seeded acres were not harvested, reflecting the harvest delays. Some of that has since been completed with more done in spring.
