Flax Chart of the Week
Old-crop flax bids have been dropping hard across the prairies the past couple of weeks. In part this is a seasonal response as farmers finish off selling last year’s crop in anticipation of the upcoming harvest. At the same time, overseas buyers are limiting purchases as they wait for lower-priced new-crop flax. Most Canadian buyers have now allowed old-crop bids to decline to the lower new-crop levels.
