Flax Council of Canada Appoints New Extension Agronomist
Winnipeg, Manitoba – September 14, 2015. The Flax Council of Canada along with the Saskatchewan Flax Development Commission and the Manitoba Flax Growers Association are pleased to announce the addition of Rachel Evans as a full time Agronomist.
Rachel has accepted the position effective September 8th, 2015 and will be working closely with Dr. Paul Dribnenki as well as our grower groups to advance many agronomic initiatives concerning the flaxseed industry.
The Flax Council of Canada and its stakeholders currently have in excess of 1.6 million dollars in research and development projects ongoing over the next three years focused on yield improvements through research plots and the use of this data in mapping out best management practices for the benefit of producers.
Rachel will play a key role in these agronomic extension priorities and considering the very high regard previous associates have in terms of Rachel’s abilities, we are sure she will make a very positive impact on the success of these important initiatives.
